Twente and Wageningen University students win prizes at international conference ECCE 2013
Vic van Dijk and Sami Sahin both won a prize with their poster presentation on the ninth European Congress of Chemical Engineering (ECCE9, The Hague). This international congress on April 24th, 2013 attracted about 1800 visitors, 750 of these presented their work with a poster. Both PhD’s research is supported by the NanoNexNL consortium, a micro and nanotechnology consortium of the Government of the Netherlands and 130 partners.
Predicting the color of OLEDsMonday, 15 April 2013
OLEDs – thin, light-emitting surfaces – are regarded as the light sources of the future. White OLEDs consist of stacked, ultra-thin layers, each emitting its own light color, all together resulting in white light. Up to now it has been impossible to predict the exact light color produced by a white OLED.
a microfluidic platform for use in experimentation on cell membranes and membrane proteins -Small-Tuesday, 09 April 2013
The article “High Yield, Reproducible and Quasi-Automated Bilayer Formation in a Microfluidic Format” has been published in the Wiley Online Library Small on April 8 (2013, in Volume 9, Issue 7). The team of Séverine le Gac (University of Twente) made a microfluidic platform for use in experimentation on cell membranes and membrane proteins. They used a combination of electrical and optical measurements, including confocal microscopy. An artist impression of their NanoNextNL research made it to the cover of the magazine. Read more...

Risk perception of nanomaterials in the workplace - SurveyMonday, 25 March 2013
TNO and the University of Twente would like to invite you to participate in a survey on risk perception about nanomaterials. Professionals in the discipline of nanotechnology are among the first to work intensively with nanomaterials. We believe that they can be of invaluable importance to building an understanding of how people view the potential risks and benefits of nanomaterials, and how they wish to communicate about this topic.
